This shop's name comes from a picture book set in this region called "Neko ga taiyaki tabechatta."(Cats eat taiyaki waffles.)

Taiyaki are fish-shaped cakes filled with sweet red bean paste, these are very much like waffles.

Obanyaki are Japanese pancakes filled with custard cream.

Monaka are a type of traditional Japanese sweet. Ice cream and red bean paste are sandwiched between two thin crispy wafers made from mochi rice in monaka ice cream sandwiches.

You can watch the staff bake taiyaki and obanyaki on a griddle.

  The monaka wafers are exceptionally crispy as they are made from 100% mochi rice and baked by experts in Asakusa where many traditional Japanese craftspeople live and work.
  
  The shop can leave out the sweet red bean paste if you prefer. Please feel free to ask for this. You will get a 30 yen discount without the paste!

• Frappé
  

  Strawberry, mango, watermelon and peach yoghurt are among the many flavored frappés on offer in the shop. Some flavors are only available seasonally so how about coming in each season to try out all the delicious flavors?
