Soleil Hill Shop⑥　Taiyaki Shop

This shop's name comes from a picture book set in this region called "Neko ga taiyaki tabechatta."(Cats eat taiyaki waffles.)

The shop sells snacks made in the shape of cute characters from the picture book.

Taiyaki, obanyaki, and monaka ice cream sandwich are the most popular snacks.

Taiyaki are fish-shaped cakes filled with sweet red bean paste, these are very much like waffles.

Obanyaki are Japanese pancakes filled with custard cream.

Monaka are a type of traditional Japanese sweet. Ice cream and red bean paste are sandwiched between two thin crispy wafers made from mochi rice in monaka ice cream sandwiches.

You can watch the staff bake taiyaki and obanyaki on a griddle.
